It's Vacation Time!
Well, the big weekend is finally here! It's time to go snow skiing! Good thing the groundhog decided to have a longer winter, because it is starting to warm up above freezing out there and I need snow! I am very happy that it has stayed cold at least this long so the skiing conditions will be fantastic! It should be a good week...I am going with a tour group so there will be about 50 people traveling together on a bus! Its going to be really fun! What a great way to meet some new people and have some fun at the same time! Our chalet is right on the mountain so I will be able to ski right up to the door! It doesn't get better than that! I'm just hoping that I will be able to stop at the bottom of the slope! lol.. knowing me I will run right into the orange fence at the bottom. I must admit, it's been a while since I've skiied. I will definately let you all know how my trip goes. I booked it in November so it's hard to believe the time is finally here!
I leave on Sunday and will be back on Friday! While I am away, my colleague will be answering any questions that players may have so continue writing in!
This week brings us to the end of our three week scavenger hunt! Thanks to all members who have participated! The new US Gaming Legislation Act
U.S. Congressman Bob Goodlatte is planning to reintroduce a new legislation that will ban online gaming companies from functioning in the United States. The increase of Internet technology makes it easier for gamers to perform these transactions over phone lines and through the Internet. Goodlatte hopes to get to the root of offshore gambling and determine a way to stop transactions from crossing state lines.
He complains that these activities suck millions of dollars out of the United States effecting not only families, but also the economy as a whole. “I have been continuously committed to putting an end to gambling on the Internet” Goodlatte said.
He worries that minors will use the Internet to perform such transactions since it is so easy. “The Internet Gambling Prohibition At brings the current ban against interstate gambling up to speed with the development of new technology”.
This improper use of the Internet is estimated to help the gaming industry reach $12 billion. The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act will be monitored to ensure that offshore companies will not extend their business past their borders or to minors. It will also prohibit these businesses from accepting certain forms of payment such as credit cards, wires and checks.
Bingo for Smokers!
Great news for all you smokers out there! Bingo firms such as Alfresco are taking time to learn their players wants and desires. It's a real nuisance for players when they have to get up from their bingo session and go out for a cigarette.
Alfresco, a British bingo firm has come up with a gadget for players who enjoy the occasional smoke. This innovative console will allow players to continue playing bingo while they go out for a cigarette. The hope is that this will keep bingo sessions in play longer. The company plans to put up to 120 machines in their 170 bingo halls.
Bingo Halls fear losing players that go out for cigarettes who may be having a bad game. By giving them a console, they are able to leave the game and return without penalty. Do you think this will last?
