Is anyone obecting to this weather! Wow, is it ever beautiful! I am looking forward to a nice weekend outside! I'm planning to do some raking and get the yard in order. Although I really don't like yard work, I'm fighting a cold, so I think that being outside will make me feel better!

Prime Minister Tony Blair defends casino plans

Prime Minister Tony Blair supports the governments plans to built multiple casinos across the UK insisting that these developments would be a great investment and regeneration into Britians cities.

He said such casinos were not "against the proper norms of society but can, in places like Blackpool and Manchester, bring much needed private investment"

Blair told the House of Commons that new proposals would be prepared and given after the May 3 elections.

"What we have to do is look very carefully at this issue," he said, "and recognise that in a world where there is online betting, where there are huge opportunities for people to bet, that casinos are not something that are against the proper norms of society but can, in places like Blackpool and Manchester, bring much needed private investment in (and) regeneration that will provide jobs and higher living standards."

Swedish hospitals want to ban crocs

A hospital in Sweden wants to ban their staff from wearing the popular plastics clogs (Crocs). They said that they generate static electricity that could effect the performance of medical equipment.

There have been three incidents at Blekinge hospital in southern Sweden where respirators and other machines malfunctioned. Lucky, these mishaps caused no injuries, but it has been suspected that the slip-on shoes made by U.S. based Crocs Inc. was the cause and that they should be banned.

Hospital spokesman Bjorn Lofqvist reported that they have had problems with other shoes, however the popularity of Crocs continues to rise at a rapid rate.

"It's been a problem for many years but now there are so many people that have them," he said, adding officials were discussing whether the sandals should be banned throughout the hospital or just in certain sections.
