When you run a website, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is often a good tool to up your google rankings and get more visitors. One theory is that if you have enough of certain keywords on your site, such as 'free online bingo' , your site will come up high in the list for anyone out there searching for these keywords.
Now this is all and well, but what I find hilarious is those sites who insert these keywords into sentences that do not make any sense.
This one I saw today and it made me laugh. The site in question (mentioning no names) replaced the word 'bingo' with 'free online bingo' - but now the whole story just reads as utter nonsense...
"Popular as it is today, Free online bingo has had its ups and downs. During World War II its popularity skyrocketed. Weary war workers found it easy to play with a chance not only to win some money, but to contribute to a worthy cause should they lose a few dollars of an evening. Free online bingo attracted huge crowds, and outdoor stadiums were filled to capacity night after night in the forties with recreation-starved Americans looking for an outlet. "
I don't know about you, but I don't remember my grandad telling me stories of how he played free online bingo in huge stadiums during the war.
