Here is one of my faves!!

World's Championship Chili

4 pounds coarsely ground sirloin
Olive oil or butter
2 (6-ounce each) cans tomato paste, thinned with water
3 to 4 medium onions, chopped, about 3 cups
1 green bell pepper, chopped, about 3/4 cup
3 cups mushrooms, sliced
2 to 10 cloves of garlic, minced (or to taste)
3 tablespoons commercial chili powder, or more to taste
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
In a 4-quart pot, cook meat in a little olive oil or butter (or a blend of the two) until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2 to 3 hours with the lid on.

Add some hot sauce!!!

Enjoy!!!

HAlf-Time Crab dip

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup milk
1 (6-ounce) can crab meat, drained, flaked and cartilage removed 1/4 cup slice green onion
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 teaspoon curry powder, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Assorted crackers and/or chips
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and milk until smooth. Stir in the crab, onions, red pepper, curry powder, salt and garlic powder. Refrigerate until serving time.
Serve with crackers and/or chips.
Makes 3 cups.

Cook's Note: Of course, if you have access to fresh, by all means go for it! Or if you need to economize, try substituting with 1 (8-ounce) package imitation flaked crab meat.

I'm having chilli tonight as a pre-game warm up! lol

How did chilli ever become the 'football' food?

Spinach dip is always a great appetizer to munch on!
