See, I don't like poodles. Maybe because I have a retreiver and I am in love with it.
I admit that lambs and retrievers shed like crazy, but I don't mind... they are awesome! |

| i had a rottweiler a few years ago and i had him from a pup and this was one of the best dogs i have ever had aside from the shedding he was great. He could guard, great around children, listened, and was soooo smart. i would definitely suggest getting a rottie but if u do get one you HAVE to train them..its a MUST or your gonna have a killer on your hands |

for good dog breeders in general they should be willing to provide you with OFA (Orothapedic foundation for animals), also they wont push you to buy a dog within a week or a month and they will ask you more questions then you will ask them, expect it to be like an interview.
A Responsible breeder will only sell puppies with a written contract..these are some things to look at for breeders. |

| The good thing about getting a dog from a breeder is you can get history of the family and you know they are all healthy and not miss treated. I would suggest buying from a breeder it may be a little more expensive but this way you already have a good idea what you are buying. And most good breeders will show you the parents before you buy |

I agree Fletch...
My dog is 2 years old now, but I got him from the same breeder as my last dog, and both of them are awesome |

| Well that really depends on you..males are more agressive and pushy so your going to have to put more physical energy to train and remember they tend to try to domonate so you shouldn't be afraid to be very stern to him or her, show him who's boss... females are just a little less agressive more loving.. |

| I think males are better in my opinion but choosing between a male or female dog is a matter of personal preference. The difference between male and female dog is minor. The only thing that anyone must consider is that a female dog is in heat twice a year, during which she will behave differently, and later on end up having descendants. The male dog will demonstrate sexual excitement every time there is a female dog in heat nearby, and when you take him out for a walk he's more likely to lift his paw and leave his scented smell as a way of marking his territory. |
